What the federal text says

Advisory guidance treats narcolepsy as incompatible with certification while it is untreated or uncontrolled, because its core symptom is involuntary sleep. A treated case is evaluated on documented control by the sleep specialist — there is no published waiting-period number, and stimulant treatment for it is itself judged under the medication exception path.

What that means for you

The diagnosis untreated closes the door; documented, specialist-managed control is the only material that can reopen it, and it reopens it as an individual evaluation, not a rule.

What moves the outcome

Bring sleep-specialist records: diagnosis basis (sleep studies), treatment, and a control statement covering excessive daytime sleepiness. Expect your medication to be reviewed under the (b)(12)(ii) exception path.

Which mode is this?

This question is decided by the federal text together with its published advisory criteria — clocks, thresholds, and specialist files. The verdict above follows the cited criteria; your documentation is what proves you meet them.

Only a certified medical examiner on the National Registry can certify you. FreightVerdict reads the published federal standards — it does not certify, diagnose, or treat, and nothing here is medical advice.
